Rescheduled Six Nations to begin with Ireland v Italy

Six Nations bosses have confirmed rescheduled fixtures to complete the delayed 2020 tournament – and also plans for an eight-team expanded autumn Test series.

Ireland will host Italy in Dublin on 24 October, before travelling to Paris to face France on 31 October – a day that will also see England take on the Italians in Rome, while Wales are expected to take take on Scotland in Twickenham.

The Women’s Six Nations will be completed across three weekends, beginning on the weekend of 24 October, when Ireland play Italy, with the side concluding their campaign the following weekend.

The Six Nations Under-20s tournament will not be completed however, with no team crowned champions for 2020. This is disappointing news for Noel McNamara’s Irish side, who led the standings with three wins from three, prior to the lockdown.

Six Nations bosses are still working to determine whether supporters will be able to attend matches.
